What You’ll Find On T.J. and Company

Let’s start with T.J. Kirby and Rockin’ Wendy V--two baby boomers who love music, radio and having fun. T.J. is the wild and wacky one who at any time can let loose with a celebrity impression or weird sound effect…but who also can be serious and thoughtful. Wendy is the “straight person” sidekick, music encyclopedia, techno-geek, and shades of Delilah encourager--but watch out, because she’s also capable of pulling witty retorts out of left field!

Then there’s the music--classic stuff from the 60s - 80s that you don’t hear music of on commercial radio these days. T.J. and Wendy like to hit you with memory-zinging songs that make you think “wow--I forgot all about that one!”. But they also like to shine the spotlight on newcomers--singers and songwriters they think you’ll be hearing more of in the future.

Listeners can also count on some regular features:

Shoutouts: If they know you’re listening, T.J. and Wendy will give you a “shoutout” by name -- just like back in the local top 40 radio days when the DJs had a more personal connection with the audience.

Facebook Question: T.J. and Wendy call on their ever-growing T.J. and Company Facebook group audience to answer a weekly question and become part of the show when their responses are read on-air.

“Cat Talk” : A celebrity/gossip segment, looking at who’s feuding with who, who’s making waves in Hollywood…brought to you by some convincing cat-related “sponsors”.

Cover-Up: Back to back original and cover versions of a hit song, with a little background to set the scene.

Good For Nothing Facts: Pretty self-explanatory--fact tidbits on just about anything to impress or bore your friends with.

T.J.’s Thoughts On Things: T.J.’s observations on life on a given week, sometimes funny, other times thought-provoking.

Frequency To The Heart: Wendy V’s weekly dose of encouraging words and positive thoughts to warm the soul.

But the thing about T.J. and Company is that it's real. Sometimes we don't know how exactly to pronounce the names of the newer artists in the top 10 countdown, or there'll be some sort of technical glitch we'll have to deal with on air...but we ad lib and laugh our way through these things. We do take the show seriously enough to want to give our listeners a good program...but we never take ourselves all that seriously (except at those times that we are being serious...there's a time and place for that, too, in the show now and then).

T.J. and Company…it's radio like you’ve never heard!
